Point A to point B is never an easy, straight line. There will always be highs and lows; failure and success. The same can be said about balancing your business and family life. It takes progress, not perfection, to achieve that balance.

Pat is an entrepreneur, business coach, wealth management advisor, and published author committed to helping others balance their lives for happier outcomes. He worked in the corporate world for twelve years before deciding, when his children were toddlers, to start his own business and gain control of his time. An active member of his community, Patrick lives in Washington State with his wife, Brooke.

While your responsibilities as an entrepreneur are undeniably significant, it's important to recognize that you are lucky to have a family you love and want to spend more time with. And you are lucky to be in a position to create a balance between your work and that family. You are your own boss, and that means you can accommodate your own life. No one is above you, demanding you work more hours over the weekend or get into the office before dawn.

The reason you haven't made the necessary changes to create that balance is because, like most entrepreneurs, you're probably the hardest boss you've ever had. You want your company to succeed. You want to provide a better life for your kids and your spouse. And that motivation can make it hard to justify a day off or an early exit from the office.

If you can open yourself to a different approach to entrepreneurship and fatherhood, though, it's possible to make all of this work. You can be a success in the office, be a supportive, loving partner to your spouse, and be a great dad that your kids look up to for the rest of their lives. You can fit it all in. And this book is going to show you how to do it.
